In case of Windows or Mac Device, Users can setup Nighthawk Wi-Fi Router using IP address http://192.168.1.1 or default web address of Nighthawk Wi-Fi Router www.routerlogin.net. Nighthawk Extender Setup

Nighthawk Wi-Fi 6 Technology Extenders are best known to eliminate dead Wi-Fi Zones and high-speed Internet access across all devices. EAX Series Nighthawk Extenders work on Seamless Wi-Fi Technology, so that users can connect to Same Wi-Fi Network SSID. With Seamless Wireless Technology, Extender will share and Broadcast Same Wi-Fi Network as of main Host Router. Nighthawk EAX Series Extender setup can be done via Nighthawk App or via WPS Push Button. Just Connect Extender to Power Supply, Press and Hold WPS Button on Extender and Main Host Router for three seconds, Nighthawk Extender will Sync with main Host Router.

Users can also try manual Nighthawk Extender Setup, by connecting Laptop/PC with Nighthawk Extender Wi-Fi Network, then launch a browser and use http://mywifiext.net or http://mywifiext.local to access Extender Interface page, Follow on screen instructions to complete setup process. In case http;//mywifiext.net fails, use IP address http://192.168.1.250 to access Nighthawk Extender interface settings page.

Nighthawk Wi-Fi Router Setup

Nighthawk routers can be configured easily using the Nighthawk app from your mobile device itself. Alternatively, users can do setup using a desktop/laptop using the web address http://routerlogin.net or the default IP address http://192.168.1.1. To set up Nighthawk Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 technology routers, users can follow the troubleshooting steps:

  • Connect Power Supply to Nighthawk Router, Make Sure you are using Power adapter which came with Nighthawk Router Box.
  • Unplug Old Router if Any, Connect Ethernet Cable from Internet WLAN slot of Nighthawk Router to your Internet Provider Modem.
  • Reboot the Modem and Nighthawk Router, wait for the Lights to be Stable Green or White on Certain Models.
  • Connect your mobile device with Nighthawk Router SSID and Wi-Fi Password, Default Wi-Fi Name and Password are mentioned on Router label.
  • Download Nighthawk App from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  • Create Account and then Select Add a Wi-Fi Router Option.
  • Follow Onscreen instruction on Nighthawk Mobile App to Complete initial setup process.
  • Alternatively, Users can use web address http://www.routerlogin.net or http://192.168.1.1 to access Nighthawk Router initial setup interface page.
  • Genie screen will appear to detect Internet Connection, create your Wi-Fi password and new Network Name, Upgrade Firmware and Create Router Account to Complete Settings.

Nighthawk Wi-Fi App Features

Nighthawk App lets users Configure Nighthawk Series Routers, Extenders and Mesh Wi-Fi System from Mobile App itself. Users can manage their Network Settings from Mobile App itself.

  • Wi-Fi Setup: Users Can Create Wi-Fi Network Name and Wi-Fi Password from Nighthawk App itself.
  • Guest Network: Users can create separate Guest Network Profile using Nighthawk App, so that Guest Devices can’t access local Network Settings.
  • Firmware Upgrade: Firmware of Nighthawk Router and Extenders can be updated using Nighthawk App, Select Auto Firmware Update option, so that Nighthawk Router/Extender Firmware is up to date, whenever there is a Firmware released, Nighthawk App will automatically Upgrade Router Firmware to latest.
  • Parental Controls: Setup Smart Parental Controls using Nighthawk App, Users can set up and manage Parental Controls, Block/Unblock Internet Access to Networking Devices using Nighthawk App.
  • Network Map: Manage and Check Networking Devices Connected to your network via Nighthawk App. Users can also check the IP address of Devices Connected, Block/Unblock Internet Access to Connected Devices using App.
  • Speed Test: Check Speed of your Network from Nighthawk App itself. Make Sure your Device relates to 5Ghz Network, for Optimum Speed and Performance.
  • Setup and Installation: Users can manage and install Nighthawk series Extenders and Routers, using Nighthawk App, moreover installation of Nighthawk Mesh Wi-Fi Devices Like MR60/MK73 can be done using App itself.

In case users are getting Error Message while setting up Nighthawk Router or Extender using App, try initial setup process using Web address http://192.168.1.1 or www.routerlogin.net in case of Nighthawk Series Routers.

In case of Nighthawk Series Extenders use www.mywifiext.net or http://192.168.1.1250 IP address to configure Range Extender. Web address http://mywifiext.local or http://mywifiext.net directs to Nighthawk Extender login management page via IP address 192.168.1.250.

Nighthawk Wi-Fi Router Firmware Update

Nighthawk Router Firmware must be updated to latest to fix security vulnerabilities if any and to get Enhanced performance from Router. Nighthawk Routers have Auto Firmware Update Feature, which is ON by default. It’s recommended to update Router Firmware from laptop/PC by Connecting Ethernet Cable from LAN Slot of Router to your PC, if possible, else, Users can Update Router Firmware using Nighthawk App by following Below mentioned steps:

  • Connect Your Mobile Device with Nighthawk Router Wi-Fi Network SSID Wirelessly.
  • Launch Nighthawk App and Enter Admin password for Router.
  • Click on Advanced Option>> Then Select Firmware Update option.
  • Router will Check if there is any latest Firmware update available.
  • Click on Update Firmware option, Router will Download latest Firmware File and upgrade Firmware of Nighthawk Router to latest.
  • Nighthawk Router will reboot once to apply changes.

Alternatively, users can update nighthawk Router firmware by logging to Router page using http://192.168.1.1 or www.routerlogin.net address. A Login Screen will appear, Default username is admin and admin password are one created by user while initial setup of Nighthawk Router. Nighthawk GUI interface screen will appear, Click on ADVANCED Option>> Then Select Administration Option>> Select Firmware Update Option to upgrade Router Firmware to the latest. Nighthawk Router will Reboot once to apply the latest Software Update changes. Make Sure your Router is Powered ON while updating Router Firmware, do not Power Off Router in between, Moreover, do not Reset or Operate any other Router Functions while Router Firmware update process is in progress.

Nighthawk Modem CAX Series Setup

Nighthawk Modem setup can be done using web address http://192.168.1.1 or www.routerlogin.net address. CAX Series Nighthawk Gateways can be used with Comcast, Cox, Spectrum Etc. Cable Connection, users can save their Monthly Rents on ISP provided Modem, by installing Nighthawk Series High Speed CAX Series Modems.

Users can set up Nighthawk CAX Series Modems by using below-mentioned steps:

  1. Connect Power Supply to new Nighthawk Modem.
  2. Connect Coaxial cable from ISP to New CAX series Modem.
  3. Reboot Nighthawk series Modem and wait for the lights to be stable Green or White.
  4. Connect your PC or other Networking Device with Ethernet Cable if Possible or Wirelessly, Wi-Fi Name and Password of CAX series Nighthawk modem can be checked on Label itself.
  5. Launch a Browser and type http://192.168.1.1 or routerlogin.net to Open Router web interface initial setup page.
  6. Follow On-Screen instructions and create new Admin login password, Wi-Fi Network Name and Password and then Click Finish to Finalize Settings.
  7. CAX Series Modem gateway will reboot once to apply changes.
  8. Reconnect to New Wi-Fi network and then Enjoy high Speed Internet Access.
  9. In some cases, Internet Providers need to Contact ISP to Register MAC address number of New Gateway Modem, after registration of MAC Number of New Gateway, users must reboot CAX series gateway, then reconnect Devices and Enjoy High Speed Internet Access.
